How a Sea Sauna came to Benone..
Hi there. We are Carl and Anna, one half Swedish and one half Northern Irish. A few years ago we decided to head to the North Coast in search of our next adventure and soon enough we were following some eager friends into the freezing waters of the Atlantic for a weekly sea dip at Benone Strand. One half more reluctantly than the other.
We found it was the perfect way to start the day, release stress and the only cure for one half's severe morning sickness.
The only problem was that it was always more inviting to jump into the sea in Sweden where there was usually a hot sauna waiting for you afterwards.
And so we got to thinking… and designing… and eventually HotBox was born.
It’s our mission to bring people outdoors and onto our stunning coasts in all weather. The beauty of a sauna by the sea is that the sun doesn’t have to be shining for you to get the most out of your experience. In fact, our favourite conditions are those proper Northern Irish winter days when the air is cold, the sea is fresh and the sauna is Hot!
